What is the GreenITStrategy.com website about?

The vision for this website is to educate the IT industry and the general public on environmentally sustainable IT practices, technologies and solutions.  Our focus is on three key areas:

  1. Improving the ecological footprint of the ICT Industry
  2. Using technology to solve environmental problems
  3. Mimicking or utilising natural resources in a sustainable way, to create technology

We aim to inspire and inform through:

  • Podcasts in which we interview the top environmentally sustainable technology specialists and businesses, to provide you with their advice and knowledge
  • eBooks and greenpapers that inspire you with ideas and strategies for implementing your own green IT initiatives
  • Templates and tools that help you develop and structure your own green IT strategy
  • News which focuses on Australian and international green IT

GreenITStrategy.com is a Wirth Consulting Green initiative.  The website was developed by Bianca Wirth, Director of Wirth Consulting.  Bianca is an IT entrepreneur and consultant with formal environmental qualifications (BEnvSc and Provisional Environmental Auditor).  Bianca is dedicated to providing informative and objective information on building and implementing more environmentally friendly IT practices.

Bianca formerly worked for Microsoft Australia as a Government Technologist and informal green IT advisor however left the corporate world to make her own success in 2009.  Bianca contributes as an Advisory Board Member for the non-profit initiative Computers Off; and from 2008-2009 was the NSW State Lead for the Australian IT industry's Green IT Taskforce.

She regularly speaks at events, comments on green IT to the media and has written articles for magazines on Green IT.
