The new desktop meets EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) Gold status (operated by the US Green Electronics Council and based on the IEEE 1680 - 2006 standard), and is one of only 6 current desktops to achieve this (Dell have 3, Zonbu have 1 and HP have 1 listing).
The A61e scored a total of 18 out of 24 in extra points for:
- Corporate Performance - includes having a corporate policy complying with ISO 4001, self-certified environmental management system for design/manufacturing and corporate reporting based on GRI (global sustainability reporting standards).
- Design for End of Life - including special handling identification, ease of disassembly, reduced number of plastic types, and 90% reusable/recyclable.
