Fullcircle Innovations, a Japan-based organisation, have launched a website - www.ecoappsfree.com - dedicated to giving away environmentally friendly applications for free during the first 24-hours they are listed.
After the first 24 hours, the applications revert to their original price, and remain in the directory for reference.
The website works by registering individuals interested in receiving free eco applications. The applications are listed by Developers using one of the offered free or paid plans, with Fullcircle Innovations promoting their application to the registered individuals.
Supported mobile operating systems currently include iPhone and iPad, with plans to expand to Android and BlackBerry in the future.
Current applications included in the service include everything from camping guides, to time (and carbon saving) tools, to water conservation applications.
