Energy Rating Australia In Australia it is currently mandatory to label a number of appliances including washing machines, refrigerators and air conditioners. The Australian Government has created MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards) by which these appliances are governed. In late 2007 they assessed the viability of labelling computing devices for energy standards. Reports are available on this website which provide the results. A formal standard for computing energy labelling regulation has not yet been agreed upon in Australia but this website is the one to watch for changes in this. Additionally they assessed the regulation of close control airconditioners (i.e. for computer rooms) - again no standard has been defined yet. |
